Terms of Usage for OpenIPTV

Effective date: June 21, 2026

These Terms of Usage ("Terms") govern your use of OpenIPTV ("the app"). By installing, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What OpenIPTV Is

OpenIPTV is a Flutter-based IPTV player and media management app for Android TV / Fire TV and desktop platforms. It provides playback and management tools such as live TV, VOD and series browsing, favorites, search, downloads, recordings, casting, and profile transfer between your own devices.

OpenIPTV is only a player and management tool. It does not provide, host, sell, or distribute TV channels, playlists, movies, series, VOD catalogs, EPG data, streams, or subscriptions.

2. You Provide Your Own Content

OpenIPTV does not include any media content or providers. To use the app, you add your own sources, such as M3U playlists or Xtream accounts. All playlist URLs, stream URLs, provider accounts, credentials, and media sources are provided by you or by third parties you choose.

You are solely responsible for the sources you configure and the content you access, stream, download, or record through them.

3. Lawful Use and Your Responsibilities

You agree to use OpenIPTV only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. In particular, you agree that:

  • You have the right to access, stream, download, record, and store any content from the sources you configure.
  • You will not use the app to access, copy, or distribute content in violation of copyright, licensing, or other rights.
  • You are responsible for any subscriptions, accounts, or provider agreements you use with the app.
  • You will comply with the terms of any third-party provider, playlist host, or service you connect to.

You are responsible for verifying that your use of any source or content is legal in your jurisdiction.

4. No Responsibility for Third-Party Content and Services

OpenIPTV is not responsible for, and does not control, endorse, or guarantee, any third-party content, providers, playlists, streams, EPG data, metadata, servers, or services you connect to. Their availability, quality, legality, and privacy practices are outside the control of OpenIPTV.

Any disputes regarding third-party content or services are solely between you and the relevant third party.

5. Downloads, Recordings, and Local Storage

If you use download or recording features, related files and metadata are stored on your device. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to download, record, store, and play any content from your configured sources, and for managing the storage and deletion of those files.

6. Profile Transfer, Sync, and Credentials

OpenIPTV can import, export, and sync profile data, which may include sources, credentials, favorites, watchlist entries, and playback history. You decide when to start a transfer and which data to include.

You are responsible for protecting your device, exported profile files, and transfer passwords. Do not share profile exports or transfer passwords with people you do not trust.

7. Casting and Local Network Features

Casting and remote playback features may send stream information, playback status, device name, and control commands to devices on your local network. You are responsible for using these features only with devices and networks you control or trust.

8. Privacy

Your use of OpenIPTV is also subject to the Privacy Policy provided with the app. The Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and when it may leave your device.

9. No Warranty

OpenIPTV is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The app may contain bugs, may be unavailable, and may change or remove features at any time. Playback availability and quality depend on your sources, network, devices, and platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers and contributors of OpenIPTV shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, device issues, or claims arising from third-party content or services.

You use the app at your own risk.

11. Intellectual Property

OpenIPTV and its own code, design, and branding are the property of their respective owners and are provided under the license terms accompanying the project. These Terms do not grant you any rights to third-party content, trademarks, or services.

12. Termination

You may stop using OpenIPTV at any time by uninstalling the app. These Terms continue to apply to your prior use. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and responsibility for your sources and content, remain in effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated when OpenIPTV changes its features, data handling, or platform requirements. The updated version should be published with the app or project documentation. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Contact

For questions about these Terms, use the contact information provided in the app store listing, project repository, or distribution page where you obtained OpenIPTV.
